ACDP wishes Bafana Bafana well for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Jun 11, 2026

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP), together with its members and supporters, congratulates the South African national soccer team, the coach, the technical staff, and everyone who contributed to Bafana Bafana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Today will mark the team’s first appearance at the tournament since 2010. The squad now has an opportunity to showcase its God-given talent while representing the nation in its opening match against co-hosts Mexico. The match will take place on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at Mexico City Stadium, starting at 21:00.

The ACDP wishes the team every success during this historic moment. The party wants the players and staff to know that the country stands firmly behind them. A strong result in the opening match could help build confidence for the later stages of the tournament.

The ACDP is confident that the hard work led by Hugo Broos, together with the team’s commitment throughout the qualifying campaign, will make South Africa proud. The party also echoes the coach’s message that South Africa will “fight like lions” in its opening clash against Mexico.

The team is encouraged to remain focused, avoid distractions, and approach the match with determination. They have what it takes to bring honour to the country. Do your best and trust God to do the rest.
