Care in Action.

It may be as simple as a hearty bowl of soup, but for many, this could be the only nutritious meal they’ve had in days. Find out more about how we are making a difference in our communities and how you can help make a difference, too.

Happy Feet School Shoes Project

Welcome to the Happy Feet School Shoes project. Being parents ourselves, we know the strain there can be when your child has outgrown his/her shoes and you just cannot afford to buy a new pair. It is also not comfortable for them to walk with shoes that are too tight. For that reason we collect and polish up used shoes, keeping the feet happy.

Please, any school shoes are welcome. May God bless your generosity in helping the ones in need. Even when new shoes have been donated, we swap the old for the new.

Sakha Isiziwe Soup Kitchen

The Sakha Isiziwe Soup Kitchen project started in 2021 and is based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town and is run by Cllr. Mongezi Mabungane and members of the ACDP. Soup kitchens are set up every weekend and serves four different areas of Khayelitsha.

You can help by donating bread and soup ingredients including beans and sausages which we mix together to make a delicious soup.

The Good Food Programme

The Good Food Programme, based in Mossel Bay, feeds the homeless twice a week. We also support three additional soup kitchens by giving them healthy, wholesome ingredients each month. In addition, we stock small food packs of essentials to make a hearty soup for four.

We reach out to organisations such as creches when we hear of a need, and act as an intermediary where we have linked a local church operating a needy soup kitchen. The church cooks a thick and nutritious soup each and serves mostly children on their way home from school.

We would welcome more volunteers to assist with cooking or serving on meal days as well as donations in kind. Also welcome are those who would interact and engage people at the programme as people need to know they are cared for and loved.

Precious Toddlers

The Precious Toddlers project primarily provides new and second-hand clothing to underprivileged children between the ages of 0-6 as many children in the area of Khayelitsha lack decent clothes to wear and solely depend on hand-me-downs donated by the community at large. We would greatly appreciate any donation of clothing, shoes, blankets and toys. Thank for blessing and investing in them.
