ACDP joins G7 leaders in condemning Iran’s attack on Israel

Apr 15, 2024

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) joins G7 leaders who have condemned Iran for launching about 300 drones and missiles into Israel.

The leaders reportedly said that Iran risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation of conflict, not only in that region but in the world. They held a video conference and said in a statement after meeting that they are working hard to stabilise the situation in the Middle-East, something that the ACDP greatly appreciates.

We further commend the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) who have also condemned Iran’s attack on Israel and we are relieved that they have confirmed their commitment to Israel’s security. The ACDP calls on other nations to commit themselves to being peacemakers during conflicts, particularly the current conflict in the Middle East, in order to prevent what may lead to widespread conflict or war that would involve many other countries. The world does not need more wars, but peace.

The ACDP calls on all people, not only South Africans, to pray for peace in the Middle East, and in Jerusalem as the Bible admonishes us, and to pray for peace in our communities at home.
