ACDP grieved at murder of Kaizer Chiefs footballer Luke Fleurs

Apr 5, 2024

The African Christian Democratic Party is deeply saddened to hear of the death of 24-year-old Luke Fleurs, a Kaizer Chiefs footballer, who was gunned down during a hijacking incident in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

The horrific incident took place in Honeydew, Johannesburg North, while Luke was stopped at a petrol station. The attackers fled with his vehicle, and a police investigation is ongoing with no arrests having yet been made.

Luke represented South Africa in our under-23 side at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Sapporo, Japan.

The ACDP abhors this dreadful loss of a young life full of promise, one of the of thousands of hijackings in our country every month.

We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, team mates and fans. Luke will be remembered for his service to his country.
