ACDP CANDIDATE LGE2026
For Council: Msunduzi Municipality
Ward 34, KwaZulu-Natal

About Stephen Naidoo

Son of Ward 34 | Servant of the Community

Ward 34 is not simply an electoral ward to me. It is home.

After leaving Raisethorpe Secondary School at the end of Grade 9, I matriculated from Eastwood Secondary School in 1997 and, after living outside the ward from 2005 to 2013, I returned permanently to Eastwood in December 2013.

I am standing for councillor because I believe Ward 34 deserves a representative who is present, accessible, accountable and prepared to act.

YOUR VOICE • YOUR WARD • YOUR FUTURE

Experience I Bring to Ward 34

I bring broad practical experience in operations, administration, business, safety, risk management, logistics, people development and community service, gained across multiple industries and working environments.

1. Senior Safety, HSE and Risk Management Leadership

I have professional experience managing people, contractors, projects, risks, audits, incidents, reporting, legal compliance and corrective actions.

My professional training includes Integrated Risk Management, SHE Management, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment, Legal Compliance Auditing, OHSAS 18001, HSE Standards & Procedures, SHEMTRAC, IRCON/IRCA and Legal Liability.

FOR WARD 34:

I understand that identifying a problem is only the beginning. The problem must be investigated, responsibility established, corrective action taken and progress followed through.

I will bring that disciplined approach to municipal issues and service delivery.

2. Practical Workplace and Operational Experience

My experience extends beyond Safety and HSE.

I have worked as a:

Creditors Clerk: Financial administration, supplier accounts, documentation and record keeping.

Storeman: Stock control, inventory management, materials handling and accountability.

Dispatch Clerk: Order processing, dispatch coordination, documentation and logistics.

I have worked across the publishing, manufacturing, construction and automotive industries.

FOR WARD 34:

These experiences taught me the importance of proper administration, financial discipline, resource management, logistics, planning, accountability and getting things done properly.

I understand that systems only work when people take responsibility for their part.

3. Business and Economic Experience

I previously owned and managed a 5-star RMI-accredited automotive repair and maintenance workshop, growing turnover from almost R0 to approximately R450,000 per month within eight months through effective systems, workforce development and accountability.

I also hold a Diploma in Bookkeeping and a Diploma in Business Computing.

FOR WARD 34:

A community needs more than basic service delivery.

It needs economic opportunity, functioning businesses, skills development, employment and opportunities for people to become productive and self-sufficient.

I understand the challenges and responsibilities involved in building and running a business.

4. Ministry and Community Service

I have served in full-time ministry since 2013, working with individuals, families, couples and communities.

FOR WARD 34:

A community is made up of people and families, not simply houses, roads and infrastructure.

My experience has taught me the importance of listening to people, dealing with difficult circumstances, encouraging responsibility and helping people move forward.

5. Life and Relationship Coaching

I am a Certified Professional Life Coach and a Relationship Coach, helping people address challenges, improve communication, take responsibility and move forward.

I also serve with AddMile as a 5-star graded Coach since February 2025.

My professional training has also included Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

FOR WARD 34:

Leadership requires more than making decisions. It requires listening, communication, emotional intelligence, conflict management and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and circumstances.

I will seek to build bridges and strengthen relationships within our community.

6. Entrepreneurship and Leadership

I am the Founder and Director of The Reconnection Practice (Pty) Ltd and Founder and Apostle of God’s Truth Ministries NPC.

FOR WARD 34:

I understand what it means to take responsibility, build systems, solve problems and turn an idea into action.

I will bring a mindset of initiative, responsibility, innovation and practical problem-solving to the representation of our ward.

7. Author and Communicator

Effective leadership requires the ability to communicate clearly, educate, listen and make complex issues understandable.

 Residents deserve to know:

  • What was reported?
  • Who is responsible?
  • What response was received?
  • What action is being taken?
  • What happens next?

I believe communication and accountability must go together.

My Record of Service

My commitment to serving people did not begin because I decided to become a political candidate.

I already assist residents with practical municipal concerns, especially with Electricity and Water issues.

I believe residents need a councillor who does more than attend council meetings. They need someone who will listen, investigate, report, follow up, and communicate.

When residents raise an issue, they should know what has been done, what still needs to be done, and where the matter stands.

What You Can Expect From Me

I Am Accessible: Residents should be able to reach their councillor and be heard.

I Am Accountable: I will track issues, commitments and municipal responses and communicate progress.

I Am Courageous: I will raise difficult issues, ask difficult questions and challenge poor performance when necessary.

I Am Practical: I will focus on identifying the problem,  finding the appropriate solution, and taking action.

I Am Experienced: I bring experience in leadership, business, administration, safety, risk management, operations, logistics, people development and community service.

I Am Community-Focused:  I believe in serving the community without worrying about the title.

These are not just words I have written. They are the standards I intend to hold myself to as your councillor. In fact, my faith has shaped my understanding of leadership where leadership is responsibility, service, integrity and accountability — not entitlement.

My Vision For Ward 34

LISTENING TO YOU • WORKING WITH YOU • ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU

I believe Ward 34 deserves more than a councillor who only reacts when something goes wrong.

We need a ward that is safe, clean, well-maintained, economically active, opportunity-driven, youth-focused, family-oriented, community-minded, and accountable.

Service delivery matters, but quality of life matters too.

Our goal must not simply be to repair what is broken. We should also work towards building a community that people can be proud to call home.

My Commitment To Ward 34

REBUILDING TRUST • SERVING THE PEOPLE

I cannot promise to solve every problem. No councillor can.

But I can promise to:

  • Listen
  • Ask The Right Questions
  • Follow Up
  • Hold The Municipality Accountable
  • Communicate Honestly
  • Stand Up For Residents
  • Serve With Integrity
  • Report Back

I will not tell residents what they want to hear. I will tell you the truth, work on the issues within my mandate, and keep you informed.

An Opportunity For Genuine Change

Far too many of our municipalities are failing in their duty to protect, maintain and build our communities. They are crumbling under chronic service delivery failures, rampant financial mismanagement, increasingly wasteful and irregular expenditure, and are being run by elected councillors who seem to treat their councils like personal feeding troughs. You deserve better!

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) has many solutions to ensure that municipalities thrive, and keep our communities safe, healthy, well-maintained and clean.

At the ballot box on 4 November 2026, vote for the Msunduzi and South Africa you deserve. VOTE ACDP and elect to your Metro or municipality capable, trustworthy men and women like Stephen Naidoo, who will serve you and your community with integrity, excellence, and care.
