Ward 37, KwaZulu-Natal

About Justin Lind

A Man Rooted in This Community

Justin Peter Lind is not a politician who arrived in Pietermaritzburg with ambitions — he is a man who has lived here, served here, and built here for nearly three decades. For 28 years, Justin has called Ward 37 — Epworth and Ashburton — home. He knows these streets. He knows these neighbourhoods. He knows the people who live in them, and he knows what they deserve.

That is exactly why he is standing for Council.

Discipline, Integrity, Leadership

Before entering the world of business, Justin served his country as an Officer in the South African National Defence Force for 16 years — 8 of those deeply embedded in the military community right here in Pietermaritzburg. Military service does not produce passive individuals. It produces leaders who understand accountability, who make decisions under pressure, and who never mistake public trust for personal entitlement.

After his military career, Justin channelled that same discipline into 20 years of entrepreneurship in Pietermaritzburg — creating, sustaining, and growing a business in one of South Africa’s most challenging economic environments. He understands what it takes to manage finances responsibly, to keep commitments, and to deliver results. These are not abstract ideals for Justin Lind — they are habits forged over a lifetime.

Faith, Family, and Community

Justin is not simply a resident of this community — he is an active participant in it. Through his involvement in One Life Church, NCF, and Cornerstone AOG, Justin has demonstrated a consistent, long-term commitment to the wellbeing of those around him. His faith is not a campaign slogan — it is the foundation of who he is and how he leads.

He believes firmly that Christian values, ethics, and moral integrity are not optional extras in public life — they are the bedrock of genuine, lasting governance. At a time when too many councillors treat public office as a personal benefit, Justin offers something genuinely different: a man whose character has been tested not over an election cycle, but over a lifetime.

The Change Msunduzi Needs

The truth about Msunduzi Municipality is difficult, but it must be said: our municipality is failing its residents. Chronic service delivery breakdowns, rampant financial mismanagement, wasteful and irregular expenditure, and councillors who seem to confuse public funds with personal income — this is the reality too many residents in Ward 37 and across Pietermaritzburg face every single day.

You Deserve Far Better

Justin Lind’s vision for local government is built on three uncompromising pillars:

1. Community Access — Restoring the connection between residents and their representatives, so that the concerns of Ward 37 are heard, recorded, and acted upon.

2. Financial Accountability — Driving a genuine turnaround in how public money is managed, ending the culture of waste and impunity that has crippled service delivery.

3. Economic Opportunity — Championing conditions that attract investment, support local enterprise, and create the employment this community so urgently needs.

Why the ACDP? Why Now?

Justin joined the African Christian Democratic Party as a life member in February 2026 — not out of political convenience, but out of conviction. The ACDP stands apart from the parties that have had decades to fix our municipalities and have instead helped to break them. The ACDP’s commitment to biblically-grounded, ethical governance aligns precisely with the leadership Justin has demonstrated his entire adult life.

This is a man with a 16-year military record, a 20-year business track record, a 28-year investment in this community, and a lifetime of faith-driven service to others. He brings no hidden agenda. He brings no factional loyalties. He brings capability, trustworthiness, and genuine care for the people of Msunduzi.

An Opportunity For Genuine Change
